Cumberland University is looking to hire one (1) Graduate Assistant - Sports Performance Coach

ANTICIPATED START DATE:

- Spring 2027 – January 11 th

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design and implementation of training programs for multiple assigned sports

- Assisting with training for Football

- Cleaning and maintenance of weight room and equipment

- Other duties as assigned

- 2 year Commitment

COMPENSATION:

- Full tuition waiver

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field

- Must gain acceptance into either the Sports Management or Sport and Exercise Science graduate program at Cumberland University (potential for GRE test score to be waived provided candidate completes other requirements)

- Previous Collegiate Sports Performance Coaching experience (internships)

- Must possess or working towards a Strength & Conditioning certification (CSCS) and CPR/First Aid certification

- Must have a 3.0 or above overall GPA

DESIRED SKILLS:

- USAW Certification - Experience coaching the olympic lifts

- Collegiate athletic experience a plus

- Experience using the Teambuildr Training platform a plus

- Strong interpersonal communication skills

- Strong attention to detail and work ethic

- Excellent Organizational skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Record keeping and reporting skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs ( Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

- Basic data analysis skills preferred
