About this role
Location : Brighton Salary : £34,800 per annum
Hours : 37 per week
What you’ll be doing:
Are you passionate about helping people experiencing homelessness access safe, appropriate accommodation? Do you have the housing knowledge and coordination skills to help match people with accommodation that meets their needs?
This role (known internally as Housing Nominations and Placement Lead) is part of our Exempt Temporary Accommodation with Support (ETAS) team in Brighton and Hove, co-located with Brighton & Hove City Council and working closely with other service providers. Guided by Southdown’s values, we work compassionately, inclusively and collaboratively to provide safe, appropriate and sustainable temporary accommodation where residents feel secure, respected and supported to move forward.
You’ll lead the coordination of nominations across the ETAS pathway. Assessing housing need, risk, safeguarding and support requirements, you’ll make and coordinate placements to help people access appropriate accommodation.
Working closely with council colleagues, housing providers and partner agencies, you’ll resolve placement issues and provide clear advice on nominations and allocation processes. You’ll also maintain accurate records, monitor placement and occupancy performance, and help improve how the pathway works. Throughout your work, you’ll uphold Southdown’s values and support trauma-informed practice and a psychologically informed approach to nominations and placements.
We welcome applications from people with relevant experience across housing, homelessness and supported accommodation services, including roles such as Housing Team Manager, Allocations Officer, Temporary Accommodation Officer, Housing Options Officer or Placement Coordinator or those who can demonstrate transferable skills in assessing referrals and coordinating placements.
