Sandy Lane Hotel, an AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star exclusive resort and a member of Leading Hotels of the World, is seeking to recruit a temporary Retail Assistant for its Collection and Pro Shop Retail outlets.

RETAIL ASSISTANT

The Role

The Retail Assistant will report to the Retail Manager. He/she will assist with providing excellent customer service to external and internal customers.

Key duties and responsibilities:

- Checks inventory regularly to ensure all available products are adequately stocked and available for purchase

- Prepares bills/receipts and collects payments for goods that customers purchase.

- Assists the Retail Manager in Inventory management.

- Handles opening and closing of the retail store as directed by the Retail Manager.

- Maintains an accurate Customer Request Log and notifies the Retail Manager.

- Ensures that all merchandise is immaculately presented according to standard.

- Maintains a clean, well-organized back store area.

- Monitors and updates sales display as required.

- Performs a variety of administrative duties.

- Up-selling available merchandise to maximize profit.

- Ensure guests are well attended, assisting with product selection and making recommendations.

- Schedules starting times, check-in for golfers and collects greens fees and other golf fees.

Our ideal candidate must possess:

- Previous experience in customer service role.

- A good secondary school education with CXC passes specifically in English and Mathematics.

- A positive and cheerful attitude as well as strong verbal communication skills.

- A passion for meeting and greeting the customer’s and executing company’s objectives.

- Commercial drive and awareness with the ability to identify potential sales opportunities.

- Patience and the ability to listen and understand a customer's request.

- The ability to solve minor challenges quickly and effectively.

SENIOR RETAIL ASSISTANT

The Role

This role reports to the Assistant Retail Manager and will assist with the management of the Pro Shop

and Collection outlets, providing excellent customer service to external and internal customers.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

- Supports the Assistant Retail Manager to maximize store performance through effective management, ensuring that all opportunities for excellence are exploited

- Ensures effective administrative support to team members in the delivery of excellent customer service in line with Retail Culture

- Drives customer service standards to achieve sales and ensure that customer satisfaction targets are exceeded

- Assists the Assistant Retail Manager in analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximize profits

- Manages petty cash

- Assists with selection of staff for training and development, identifying performance issues that will ensure a skilled and motivated workforce is able to deliver quality service to customers

- Creates a safe and secure working environment in compliance with company standards

- Deputizes for the Assistant Retail Manager and acts as Duty Manager when required

- Responding to customer complaints and comments

- Assist customers on the sales floor; operating the POS, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving issues

Our preferred candidate must possess:

- Secondary level education, including English and Mathematics at CXC Level

- Five (5) to Six (6) years’ experience in the retail sector

- At least two years’ experience in supervisory Management

- Strong leadership skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills

- A passion for meeting customers and the company’s expectations

- Commercial drive and awareness with the ability to identify potential sales opportunities

- Patience and the ability to listen and understand a customer's request.

- The ability to solve challenges quickly and effectively.
