About this role

Packer Freight is looking for a Director of Sales & Marketing to join our growing team!

Job Summary:

The Director of Sales & Marketing owns Packer Freights growth engine. Reporting to the President and serving on the leadership team, this role leads, coaches, and builds our team of Business Development Managers (BDM) to land new shippers and expand margin with existing customers. Success is measured by the teams results, not personal production: a disciplined pipeline, a repeatable sales playbook, and a BDM team that is hired well, ramped quickly, and retained. The Director also shapes how Packer Freight shows up in the market, sharpening our message and opening new verticals such as data center and critical infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

- Personally lead and close strategic accounts that can grow into our largest relationships.

- Grow named accounts. Win new lanes, plants and modes at a defined list of current customers, and coordinate QBRs for those accounts. Account managers keep the day-to-day service.

- Own the sales message and marketing plan . Sharpen why shippers pick Packer, and keep every BDM's messaging consistent with our strategy and target markets.

- Build and run the pipeline. Clear stages, forecasting, and the sales operations and CRM that make it stick.

- Design and run the sales playbook. Standardize how we prospect, qualify, propose and close.

- Build and run the sales training program for new and existing BDMs, in partnership with the President and People team on onboarding.

- Lead and coach a team of BDMs. Weekly 1:1s, joint calls, deal reviews and weekly sales meetings. Hire and build the team as it grows.

- Set quotas, KPIs and activity standards for every BDM and hold the team accountable.

- Build our data center and critical infrastructure vertical. Identify the target shippers, contractors, and project types, and build the go-to-market plan, messaging, and pipeline to win them.

- Work with our sister companies under PFS Companies on shared customers and referrals.

- Run the seat on Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). Own a weekly scorecard, set quarterly Rocks, and sit on the leadership team.

- Partner with the GM and Director of Solutions on pricing, solution design, and handoff of new accounts to the operations teams.

- Partner with the President on sales strategy, including strategic planning, rock setting and market research.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

- 5+ years selling freight brokerage or 3PL services, including 2+ years of leading a sales team.

- Proven track record personally closing mid-size and enterprise shipper accounts.

- Experience building pipeline and forecast discipline in a CRM; proficient in Microsoft Office.

- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, inspire and hold people accountable.

- Ability to work on-site in Green Bay.

- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain coverage through the company's auto insurance carrier according to the company Driver Safety Policy.
