Job Summary:
The Custodian is responsible for performing cleaning duties and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the Shenny building is maintained in a healthy and sanitary manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Wash and disinfect all bathroom floors, toilets, sinks, fixtures, and mirrors.
- Replenish all toilet tissue, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and hand soap, as needed.
- Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans daily.
- Clean outside grounds daily.
- Clean entrance and exit including floors, glass, doors, and hardware.
- Clean offices and conference rooms, dust all furniture and fixtures as needed.
- Damp mop hard floor areas and vacuum all carpeted areas.
- Clean all break rooms, office kitchen areas, sinks, and counters.
- Clean and disinfect all water fountains.
- Wash and scrub floors with floor scrubber.
- Bail cardboard waste for recycling using the cardboard bailing machine.
- Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Restock supplies.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be knowledgeable of standard cleaning procedures and chemicals.
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems.
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
- Must be flexible and demonstrate sound work ethics.
- Possess high energy and a team attitude.
Physical Demands:
- The custodian is a physically demanding position. The custodian spends most of their time at work standing, walking, sweeping, and mopping floors.
Working Conditions :
- Temperatures can be as low as 40 degrees in some areas.
- The noise level is moderate.
