About this role
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) working in our amazing and growing Urology Clinic at the CUMC-Began Campus, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.
Why Urology?
- Unlike general practice clinics, urology MAs (Medical Assistants) routinely assist with or handle specialized clinical tasks. These can include catheter changes, self-catheterization instruction, bladder scans, specimen collection, and assisting providers during minor procedures like cystoscopies, vasectomies, or prostate biopsies
- You gain targeted medical expertise regarding kidney health, urinary tract conditions, bladder disorders, and male/female urological or reproductive health. This deep focus makes the workday intellectually engaging
- Many patients feel anxious or embarrassed discussing urinary leakage, sexual health, or prostate concerns. MAs often find deep job satisfaction in building rapport, answering questions, and helping patients feel comfortable and respected
- Urology care often involves chronic conditions or multi-step treatment plans. MAs frequently provide ongoing post-visit support, such as medication follow-ups, test result delivery, and coordinating care with external specialists
