Laboratory Operations Manager

Department: Core Laboratory

Schedule
Full Time, Day Shift (80 hours biweekly)
Hours: Monday - Friday, Day Shift hours
Rotation: On call rotation as needed

General Summary

Performs a variety of duties and functions to assist the Laboratory Director in the management and operation of Laboratory Services. Plans, organizes, controls, and supervises personnel and work activities in one or more divisions of the laboratory. Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Performs administrative on-call duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

- Bachelors Degree Required and

- College Diploma As part of CAP requirements, copy of college diploma and transcript required upon hire. Required and

- College Transcript As part of CAP requirements, copy of college diploma and transcript required upon hire. Required

Work Experience:

- 5 years Relevant experience. Required and

- Supervisory experience. Required and

- Medical technology or a related science experience. Required

- Certified Technologist in Blood Banking - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Technologist in Chemistry - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Technologist in Cytogenetics - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Cytologist - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Diplomate in Laboratory Management - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Donor Phlebotomy Technician - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Technologist in Hematology - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Histotechnician - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Histotechnologist - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Technologist in Microbiology - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Technologist in Molecular Biology - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

- Certified Medical Laboratory Scientist - ASCP Upon Hire Required or

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Demonstrated leadership potential required.

- Excellent human relations and oral/written communications skills.

- Thorough understanding of management & technical principles.

- Familiarity with information systems preferred.
