About this role

ANALOG DESIGN ENGINEER

Beaverton, OR (onsite) $120-135k (plus a 15% bonus, paid quarterly) Direct Hire ----- About the Role Youll be doing full design engineering from the start and contributing to board designs within your first week or so. The work is the analog side of mixed-signal boards inside high-end test and measurement instruments. The team pushes its designs hard, so expect deep optimization over quick, basic circuits. A dedicated layout designer handles the board layout, which keeps your time on parts, schematics and simulation. After about 6 months youll own the analog design. ----- What Youll Do

- Design amplifier stages, filters, ADC front ends and DC-DC supplies for boards that carry signals into the low GHz range.
- Pick components, capture schematics and run SPICE models before anything gets built, then prove the design out on the bench.
- Shape power rails and analog interfaces around what the FPGA or microcontroller on the board needs.
- Work with the layout designer on part placement and routing so the board keeps its noise performance.
- Write some C, C++ or C# to exercise and verify your hardware. You wont be writing the production firmware or coding the FPGA.
- Help manufacturing build test procedures, set pass and fail limits for finished units, and chase down problems when a new product starts production.
- Step in on field issues that need an electrical engineer, and bring new parts and techniques to design reviews.

----- Required Skills

- Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on work.
- 4+ years of circuit design across analog and digital, with most of your time spent on the analog side.
- Hands-on low-noise design, including grounding, filtering, impedance and op-amp circuits, plus ADC and data acquisition work.
- The full board design flow from part selection through schematic capture and SPICE simulation to a working board.
- Experience on boards built around an FPGA or microcontroller, where you designed the analog and power to fit the digital side.

----- Preferred Skills

- DC-DC converter design.
- Altium Designer or a similar schematic and PCB tool.
- Xilinx FPGAs or Microchip PIC microcontrollers and their toolchains.
- Work on precision instruments or other industrial test and measurement products.

----- Schedule and Work Environment This role is on-site five days a week in a lab and office setting, with some flexibility day to day. Youll work closely with other design engineers, technicians, manufacturing and customer support. Benefits include PTO, sick leave, a 401k and health coverage. A drug test and pre-employment screening are required. ----- Skip the wait Book 15 minutes with me and Ill walk you through whether this is worth your time. Book a quick call -----
