role

What is the Role?

Intersection is seeking a meticulous, skilled, and detail-oriented photographer for a part-time (20 hours/week) remote role in Washington D.C. Reporting to our Marketing Manager, you will capture static Out-of-Home media assets on streets across the city.

Rather than simply providing proof that a campaign was posted, you will shoot through a sales-marketing lens—capturing our Out-of-Home (OOH) campaigns at their most effective for back-end marketing materials, social media, and recap videos.

Success in this role requires a keen eye for urban street photography and the ability to independently execute an assigned shot list. You will spend the majority of your time out in the field, efficiently routing your shoots and meeting tight deadlines. This 20-hour part-time position requires the flexibility to shoot when optimal conditions present themselves, with a heavy emphasis on peak commuter hours (7-9am & 4-6pm) in the city's most populated areas, plus occasional nights and weekends for major market events.

What you will accomplish:

- Shooting high-impact marketing photos of outdoor media during morning and evening rush hours (7-9am & 4-6pm) to leverage optimal crowd, traffic, and lighting conditions
- Independently executing assigned weekly shot lists, organizing your field routes efficiently to meet campaign deadlines
- Batch editing hero photos—including light AI touch-ups when necessary—and uploading/tagging all assets in the Intersection photo library within deadlines
- Communicating clearly with your manager during weekly check-ins to provide status updates on assigned shoots and proactively pivoting when field or weather challenges arise
- Participating in bespoke photoshoots of outdoor media assets and flexing your schedule for occasional night/weekend events (concerts, sporting events, marathons) to showcase the power and atmosphere of our OOH media
- Capturing short video clips, time-lapses, and motion assets for use in social media and campaign recap videos

In the first 3 months you will:

- Understand how photography and video aid the sales process—going beyond basic proof-of-performance—and feel confident capturing all static and digital assets under optimal conditions.
- Learn the layout of our D.C. inventory to efficiently route and execute your weekly shot lists.
- Build a strong rhythm with our Marketing Manager for receiving assignments, sharing status updates, and troubleshooting when field challenges arise.

Within the first year you will:

- Master how dynamic marketing photography and video drive the sales cycle.
- Establish yourself as a reliable, go-to field photographer for the Marketing team, continuously elevating the visual work coming out of the D.C. office.
- Assist with special projects and local shoots for our corporate creative team as needed.

You're a great fit for this role because:

- You have a bachelor’s degree in Photography or a related field, basic photography equipment (required), a valid driver’s license, and reliable access to a car.
- You are an organized self-starter who feels comfortable working independently in the field to execute an assigned shot list on deadline.
- You are a reliable communicator who provides clear status updates and adapts quickly when plans or weather conditions change.
- You have a flexible approach to your 20-hour schedule to shoot during rush hours and occasional night/weekend market events.
- You’ve got an artistic eye for urban street photography and are comfortable shooting in busy public spaces to capture the vibe of the city.
- You have experience shooting short-form digital video clips for social media and recap videos.
- You’re proficient in Mac & PC platforms, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically batch editing and light AI retouching).
- You’ve got Out-of-Home media experience (a strong plus).

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must submit an up-to-date online portfolio featuring work samples related to the job requirements.

Compensation: $35-40/hr
