Pay Rate: $29.00 per hour

Position Summary

Waste Control, a Waste Connections company, is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Tractor-Trailer Driver to transport waste and recyclable materials using a 53-foot trailer between transfer stations, and mill facilities up to Headquarters Road Landfill for Disposal (4 Trips Per Day). This position offers local driving routes with consistent schedules, competitive pay, and excellent benefits while providing an opportunity to work for a leading environmental services company.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate a Class A tractor-trailer with a 53-foot trailer on assigned local routes.
- Transport garbage, recyclables, and other live loads between transfer stations, mills, and disposal facilities.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking tires, lights, fluid levels, brakes, and safety equipment.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Read route sheets, tablets, and dispatch instructions to ensure timely and accurate route completion.
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and required documentation.
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and facility personnel.
- Secure loads and verify compliance with transportation and disposal requirements.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with No Restrictions, Must be able to operate a Manual Transmission
- Ability to operate interstate routes with no license restrictions.
- Minimum of one year of tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend work orders, route sheets, and reports.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and DOT requirements.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, reach, and enter/exit truck cabs multiple times throughout the day.
- Ability to work around moving machinery, traffic, noise, fumes, dust, and vibration while following all safety protocols.
