- Coordinate counsel on enforcement, litigation, bankruptcy, receiverships, and foreclosure; establish milestones and maximize risk-adjusted recoveries.
6. REO Management and Value Creation
- Direct REO stabilization, property management, capital investment, and disposition strategies with managers, brokers, appraisers, counsel, and other advisors.
- Approve and monitor business plans, cash flows, capital needs, valuations, and exit timelines; evaluate holding, improving, refinancing, or selling assets.
7. Loan Administration, Compliance, and Credit Execution
- Oversee loan agreement compliance, reporting, covenants, reserves, insurance, taxes, inspections, and timely resolution of covenant, performance, and monetary defaults.
- Direct approvals for draws, capital expenditures, modifications, transfers, assumptions, and consents; maintain credit escalation procedures, documentation, and audit trails.

- Lead the adoption and implementation of AI-enabled financial analysis, document review, portfolio surveillance, early-warning identification, and reporting, with appropriate data governance, quality controls, validation, and human oversight.
9. Executive Reporting and Stakeholder Management
- Deliver concise portfolio, watchlist, credit, and strategic reporting to senior management, investment committees, fund investors, CLO stakeholders, warehouse lenders, and financing counterparties.
- Serve as a senior contact for borrowers, sponsors, operators, and counterparties; partner with Originations and Capital Markets to support repayment and transition to permanent financing.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible commercial real estate finance experience, with significant leadership in credit-focused asset/portfolio management, credit risk, or special assets and substantive credit and workout responsibility.
- Experience managing substantial transitional loan portfolios, preferably exceeding $1 billion in principal balance.
