You will lead a team while partnering across Finance, shared services and the broader organization to strengthen financial governance, improve processes and enable business transformation.

What you will do:

Lead and develop the team

Own financial close and reporting

- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting for Stryker Canada, including account reconciliations, financial statement review, SOX controls, BlackLine and corporate and SEC reporting requirements, partnering with Financial Reporting and FP&A to deliver accurate and timely financial results.

Safeguard accounting integrity and financial controls

- Oversee balance-sheet integrity and complex accounting matters, including account reconciliations, reserves, accruals, estimates, revenue recognition, payroll accounting, commissions, leases and deferred revenue.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP, applicable Canadian accounting requirements and SOX, identifying and addressing significant accounting, reporting and internal-control risks.

Lead shared-service and intercompany partnerships

- Lead the Finance relationship with the Costa Rica Shared Service Center across Record-to-Report and Invoice-to-Pay, monitoring service delivery, resolving escalations and improving accounting quality, controls and efficiency.
- Partner with shared-service and intercompany teams across accounts payable, reconciliations, cross-charges and related accounting activities to resolve complex issues and maintain timely, accurate financial processes.

Oversee key accounting and compliance processes

- Oversee inventory and goods-in-transit accounting and Canadian corporate and indirect tax activities, including reconciliations, reserves, tax reporting and related accounting issues.
- Manage insurance and risk-management activities and oversee foreign-exchange accounting and reporting in partnership with Corporate Risk Management and U.S. Corporate Treasury.

Improve systems, processes and controls

- Lead accounting and reporting systems, data governance and Finance transformation initiatives, partnering with IT and Corporate Finance to strengthen controls, streamline processes, improve reporting, leverage automation and deliver system implementations and enhancements.

Partner on business transformation

- Partner across FP&A, Supply Planning, Inventory, Accounts Payable, IT, Compliance and other functions on cross-functional projects, system implementations, data governance and business-process changes to address accounting, controls, reporting, financial-system impacts and operational risks.
