About this role

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the technical point of contact for the HVPS product line, growing into the primary subject matter expert over time

- Perform electrical engineering tasks related to HVPS design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting

- Work closely with manufacturing to support HVPS production builds — resolving technical issues, supporting test procedures, and ensuring build quality

- Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally to install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair HVPS equipment — including extended deployments to remote locations with limited or no outside communication

- Provide 24/7/365 on-call technical support to fielded sites around the world, diagnosing and resolving issues remotely when possible

- Program and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems used in HVPS operation

- Develop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, test procedures, and field support guides

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, software engineers, and program management

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline

- Foundational knowledge of power electronics, high voltage systems, or power supply design

- Willingness to serve as the long-term technical owner of a product line — this is a succession role, not a short-term assignment

- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including extended international deployments to remote locations with limited or no outside communication

- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance

- A hands-on, problem-solving mindset — comfortable working on the lab bench, on the manufacturing floor, and in the field

Desired Qualifications

- Experience with high voltage power supply design, test, or maintenance

- Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, or integration (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)

- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production support for electromechanical or power systems

- Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, hipot testers, and multimeters

- Prior experience in a field support, deployed, or customer-facing technical role

- Familiarity with classified environments and handling procedures

What Makes This Role Unique

This is a rare opportunity to step into a defined succession path and become the go-to expert on a critical product line. You won't just be designing circuits — you'll own the full lifecycle of the HVPS systems, from supporting builds on the manufacturing floor to installing and troubleshooting equipment at remote sites overseas. If you're an EE who wants to build deep technical expertise on a product you truly own, and you don't mind getting your hands dirty or taking a call at 2 AM to help a site on the other side of the world, this is the role.
