We are seeking a proven Learning & Development team member to design, develop, and scale a modern, digital-first curriculum for our Commercial teams. In this role, you will consult directly with commercial leaders to translate business priorities into high-impact, blended learning solutions that drive measurable team performance.

As a key thought partner to the business, you will drive the learning program's direction and bring big-picture innovation—including practical AI tools—to elevate how our commercial teams acquire, practice, and apply skills on the job. Additionally, you will serve as a continuous improvement driver and leader within our own team, refining workflows and pioneering best practices that foster stronger alignment and collaborative partnerships with other L&D teams across the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and deliver engaging learning solutions and tools, from ideation to evaluation
- Strong project management skills with the ability to independently manage projects from ideation to completion with minimal supervision, setting goals that align with department objectives.
- Solid understanding and proven application of adult learning principles
- Conduct stakeholder, subject matter expert, and learner interviews to identify performance gaps, and determines the right learning solution
- Create curriculum roadmaps and menus and recommend the optimal blend and supporting rationale
- Determine evaluation strategies and create strong, behaviorally based assessments to measure learning outcomes and impact.
- Understands business objectives and proactively translates organizational challenges into learning solutions
- Advanced proficiency in rapid development tools (Captivate, Storyline, Camtasia) to storyboard and develop rich media, video, gamification, and immersive scenario-based learning.
- Leverage creative solutions like gamification, storytelling, and rich media (simulations, digital roleplays, scenario based immersive learning) to think beyond standard practices to enhance the learner experience
- Skills in adaptive learning, experience first learning, skill-based designer
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging, end-to-end learning solutions, including measurable objectives, participant materials, and experiential scenarios, while maintaining instructional integrity.
- Develop online learning solutions which are engaging and creative, while still maintaining the instructional integrity and validity of the solution
- Represent learning in broader project efforts, ensuring an early focus on the implementation needs to ensure effective delivery in alignment with project timeline goals
- Engage with team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome on track to meet needs
- Create strong behaviorally based assessments and evaluation methods
- Strong performance and learning consulting to senior leader
- Exceptional verbal, technical writing, and professional communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to make decisions by identifying issues, diagnosing problems, generating alternative solutions and analyzing opportunities and risks
- Ability to set and achieve challenging individual goals that support department and business goals
- Ability to take responsibility for projects and follow-through to completion with minimal need for direct supervision
- Advanced use of multiple rapid development content tools (Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, etc.) to create online courseware
- Exceptional professional communication and technical writing skills and strong customer service orientation
- Be an AI innovator moving from manual processes/creation to build engaging experiences
- Photoshop, Acrobat, Articulate 360, Snag It, Camtasia

Work from Home Technology Requirements:

- A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions
- A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied via cellular data or hotspot  A private network that is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network
- Internet service must be provided by Cable or fiber Internet Service Provides (ISP)
- Hotspots and satellite services are prohibited and do not meet performance criteria required for optimal agent/customer interactions
- ISP download speeds on VPN must be at least 5Mbps, with 10+ Mbps preferred
- To validate ISP speeds from a Chrome browser, go to www.google.com (http://www.google.com/) , type Speed Test and run from the Google landing page

- Both Hardwire and WiFi internet connections are acceptable as long as speed and security requirements are met

Work from Home Living Requirements:

- Candidates must live within approximately 50 miles of one of the hub locations based in 23238, 28203, 22102 or 75024 and be comfortable coming in person whenever required with no less than 24 hours notice.

Basic Qualifications:

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 2 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering learning solutions for digital, virtual and classroom settings
- At least 2 years experience applying instructional design methodology (ADDIE or SAM or AGILE)
- At least 2 years experience with Instructional Design applications  (Articulate 360, Snag It, and Camtasia)
- At least 1 year experience using Generative AI (Gemini, Claud)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
- 3+  years of experience designing, developing, and delivering learning solutions for digital, virtual and classroom settings
- 3+ years of experience using Adobe Creative Suite applications in Design, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Articulate 360, Snag It, and Camtasia
- 2+  year experience using Generative AI (Gemini, Claud)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Charlotte, NC: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Learning Associate
McLean, VA: $88,800 - $101,300 for Sr. Learning Associate
Plano, TX: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Learning Associate
Richmond, VA: $80,800 - $92,200 for Sr. Learning Associate

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
