Position Summary

Provide entry-level maintenance support for manufacturing equipment while following all safety requirements. Responsibilities include machine cleaning, non-daily upkeep tasks, and assisting maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance, repairs, and basic troubleshooting. Coordinate all work to limit production disruption.

Shift Hours: 6 :00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform machine cleaning and non-daily industrial hygiene activities to maintain safe, orderly equipment and work areas.

- Assist maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance and routine service activities, including setup, tool staging, and basic equipment operation for maintenance purposes.

- Support repairs and corrective maintenance as assigned by the supervisor by assisting with disassembly/assembly, parts replacement, and post-repair checks under technician guidance.

- Assist with time-sensitive troubleshooting of down equipment by gathering information, observing conditions, taking basic measurements, and supporting safe restoration of service.

- Coordinate and document maintenance activities by communicating status with shop-floor leadership, updating work orders/PM records, confirming completion results, and escorting contractors/visitors as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Mechanical aptitude to understand how equipment components and systems function and to recognize obvious defects or abnormal conditions.

- Ability to use common hand tools (e.g., wrenches, hammers) safely and appropriately.

- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions, including interpreting maintenance/service manual steps

- Ability to read and understand work orders, logs, schedules, graphs, and similar shop documents.

- Ability to observe instruments (gauges, dials, indicators) and accurately record operating conditions and production-related data.

- Ability to meet vision requirements (close, peripheral, depth perception, color distinction) to perform inspections

- Basic math skills to interpret technical instructions and perform routine calculations (e.g., quantities, test results, additive amounts).

- Ability to operate industrial material-handling equipment (e.g., forklift, table lift, overhead crane) in accordance with site procedures.

- Working knowledge of basic computer tools to update maintenance records (CMMS/facilities tracking software) and create/submit requisitions; proficiency with Outlook and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working around industrial equipment and following lockout/tagout and chemical handling practices.

- Familiarity with preventive maintenance concepts and basic troubleshooting methods in a manufacturing environment.

This position requires the use of Safety boots and glasses, PPE and other protective gear as required.
