About this role
As a Manufacturing Lab Systems Engineer, you will support critical test environments at Apple's Taiwan manufacturing facility for our new product introduction (NPI) development process. You will own the cross-functional lab environment that serves as the on-ramp for silicon validation, software, hardware test, and reliability teams to access newly produced systems weeks ahead of deployment to our U.S.-based hardware labs.
Working closely with in-region EE teams, you will debug, triage, and manage newly manufactured hardware deployed in these labs, while coordinating with U.S.-based Lab Engineering and Systems EE teams to support remote lab access. This role demands equal parts technical depth and operational ownership -- grounded in systems engineering with electrical, software, and integration experience -- with teams counting on you across every time zone. Come join us!
Leveraging your expertise in server platforms and electrical engineering, you will work closely with the in-region System Electrical Engineering team on debugging and triaging hardware issues, serving as the on-site directly responsible individual (DRI) for the labs at this facility. You will be the execution arm for NPI programs, coordinating with our CM partner to move assets from the manufacturing line into lab environments under the direction of the System EPM. This requires hands-on ability to lead root cause analysis, rework, and change management with in-region teams.
You will coordinate and track the movement of factory servers from the manufacturing line to all lab environments, partnering with U.S.-based System EPMs and in-region team members spanning software, reliability, diagnostics, test, and EE.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring partnership with cross-functional organizations, including U.S.-based teams in Hardware Engineering, Reliability, Software, Test, Validation, Thermal, Product Design, Diagnostics, and Engineering Program Management.

Demonstrate capability in circuit and ARM system architecture, schematic, layout, BOM analysis
Technical knowledges in low/high speed signal protocols
Experience in I2C, USB, PCIE, Ethernet failure analysis
Hands-on experience with SOC troubleshooting, board-level debug/diagnostics, firmware, low- and high-speed system interconnects, and power management and distribution
Demonstrated ownership of a lab or production hardware environment: asset tracking, configuration management, and system disposition
Experience directing CM or vendor teams in a manufacturing or lab environment
Ability to operate effectively across time zones in a globally distributed, matrixed organization
On-site at Taiwan manufacturing facility as primary work location

AI Scripting or automation skills (Python, Bash) applied to asset management, system monitoring, or lab tooling
High-touch lab or early-access hardware environment experience
Experience troubleshooting elusive issues that manifest as software problems but originate in server hardware or firmware, including debugging interactions between high-speed buses, firmware, and OS behavior
