About this role
The Inventory Control Analyst owns systematic inventory accuracy so the factory can build without interruption. You will investigate variances at the root, keep ERP/MRP/WMS/MES records true to the floor, and close process gaps with warehouse, production, planning, quality, engineering, logistics, and purchasing.
This role is both analytical and operational: daily transactions and cycle counts, BOM-driven discrepancy work, leadership reporting, and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance with 3PL partners.
- Monitor inventory levels, transactions, and cycle counts for accuracy across ERP, MRP, WMS, and MES, and execute daily transactions so leadership and the line have real-time, reliable data
- Investigate misidentified, out-of-balance, or problem records; complete root-cause analysis; put preventive actions in place so the same miss does not recur
- Support physical inventories, system audits, internal controls, and audit readiness
- Analyze inventory trends, aging, excess/obsolete stock, shortage risk, and EBOM/MBOM changes; recommend actions that reduce waste, protect production, and prevent transaction errors
- Develop inventory KPIs, dashboards, and reports, and collaborate with planning and procurement on min/max, safety stock, and material availability
- Identify process gaps and drive continuous improvement with warehouse and production to strengthen inventory integrity, material flow, location accuracy, and transaction compliance
- Train cross-functional teams on inventory best practices; act as FTZ liaison with 3PL partners to ensure bonded and domestic goods are properly identified, handled, and received
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, Math, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years in inventory control, materials management, warehouse operations, or manufacturing supply chain, including manufacturing environment experience
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP/WMS fundamentals, including Material Master and Inventory Control modules, plus ability to read and analyze EBOM/MBOM structure and changes
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data analysis); proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets, with aptitude to learn new systems quickly
- Proven root-cause investigation, discrepancy resolution, clear written/verbal communication, and high attention to detail, organization, and follow-through in a fast-paced factory
- Command of English, written and verbal
- Preferred: high-volume automotive manufacturing, MES transactions, lean/cycle-count/inventory accuracy metrics, Power BI or Tableau, FIFO/FEFO and lot/serial tracking, excess & obsolete management, and FTZ/3PL operations
