Ko tō tūranga – your role
As our Ranging Portfolio Lead, you’ll own the day-to-day commercial management of our product range, ensuring our ranging and buying decisions respond to customer demand while delivering strong revenue, margin and lifecycle outcomes.
This is a hands-on commercial buying and trading role. You’ll work with major device and consumer electronics suppliers to select the right products, negotiate the full deal economics and build compelling propositions that our account and sales teams can take to retail and channel partners.
You’ll manage the portfolio across its full lifecycle, from supplier roadmap alignment and ranging confirmation through launch, trading, forecasting and end-of-life. Using customer, market and sales insights, you’ll make clear commercial calls that grow units and revenue while protecting margin and managing stock risk.
Based in our Trading Execution team, you’ll deliver through influence rather than direct reports, partnering across suppliers, account teams, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Demand Planning to create profitable outcomes for One NZ, our suppliers and our retail customers.

- Lead supplier negotiations across buy price, discounts, funding, promotional support, volume commitments, sell price, margin and end-of-life exposure.
- Own and explain the revenue, margin and profitability performance of your portfolio, taking action when results move away from plan.
- Coordinate launches and promotional activity across suppliers, account teams, Sales, Marketing and Operations.
- Work with Demand Planning and suppliers on forecasts and replenishment while actively managing availability, excess inventory and obsolescence risk.
- Manage products throughout their lifecycle, including roadmap alignment, ranging, launch, in-market trading and end-of-life exit.
- Equip account and sales teams with the product knowledge, proposition, pricing logic and commercial support needed to execute successfully with channel partners.
- Analyse sales, unit, revenue, margin, market and customer performance, turning insights into practical trading and portfolio actions.

- Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to challenge suppliers and internal stakeholders using data and commercial reasoning.
- The ability to analyse performance and market information and convert it into clear ranging, pricing and trading decisions.
