About this role
The Officer will administer IAWG information systems, improve member data quality and participation, and translate validated information into concise regional and cross-border analysis for coordination, preparedness and advocacy under the IAWG Director’s guidance.
Generic professional competencies
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent to 4 years professional experience in information management, data analysis, GIS, statistics, or computer science.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing datasets and dashboards and producing analysis that informs operational or strategic decisions.
- Strong hands-on Power BI skills in data preparation, modelling, visualisation, refresh and access management.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data processing, analysis and visualisation, including the ability to develop and maintain reproducible, documented code.
- Advanced Excel skills and practical experience with structured data, online collection tools and data-quality workflows.
- Ability to assess multiple sources critically, communicate uncertainty and write concise analysis for non-technical audiences.
- Practical understanding of responsible data management, confidentiality and safe handling of sensitive operational information.
- Strong member engagement, facilitation and follow-up skills, including explaining technical issues clearly and working across organisations without supervisory authority.
- Good written and spoken English.
