# Job Description – Research Analyst / Senior Research Analyst – US Equities

### Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced US Equity Research Analyst to conduct in-depth fundamental research and analysis of US-listed companies and sectors. The role involves identifying investment opportunities, developing financial models, analysing market trends, and delivering actionable research insights to support investment and trading decisions.
### Key Responsibilities
- Equity Research: Conduct fundamental research on US-listed companies, sectors, and industries to identify investment opportunities.
- Financial Modelling & Valuation: Develop and maintain financial models, earnings forecasts, and valuation frameworks using DCF, comparable company analysis, and other relevant methodologies.
- Market Analysis: Monitor US equity markets, macroeconomic developments, Federal Reserve policies, earnings announcements, and sector-specific trends.
- Investment Recommendations: Generate actionable investment ideas, stock recommendations, and research reports supported by detailed analysis.
- Earnings & Portfolio Tracking: Analyse quarterly earnings, company guidance, financial performance, and key business developments.
- Research Publications: Prepare company initiation reports, earnings updates, sector outlooks, and market commentaries.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the Research Head, trading desks, and investment teams to provide timely market insights and research support.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate company-specific, sectoral, valuation, and macroeconomic risks associated with investment recommendations.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in equity research, preferably covering US equities or global developed markets.
- Strong understanding of US equity markets, listed companies, sector dynamics, and investment strategies.
- Hands-on experience in financial modelling, financial statement analysis, and company valuation.
- Ability to independently research companies, build investment theses, and generate actionable stock ideas.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet, Capital IQ, or similar financial databases.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, report-writing, and presentation skills.
- Understanding of US market regulations, corporate disclosures, and financial reporting standards.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate US market developments, earnings announcements, and business requirements.
Educational Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- CFA / CA or equivalent professional qualifications preferred.
### Preferred Candidate Background
Professionals from equity research firms, institutional broking houses, investment banks, asset management companies, hedge funds, or global research teams with direct exposure to US-listed equities.
Key Hiring Requirement: Candidates must have hands-on experience in fundamental equity research, financial modelling, and valuation, with the ability to independently generate well-researched investment ideas on US-listed companies. Direct US equity coverage experience will be strongly preferred.
