About this role
Join the Joint Office of Academic Medicine (JOAM) and play a pivotal role in strengthening one of Singapore's most dynamic academic medicine partnerships. JOAM serves as the catalyst and enabler for Academic Medicine (AM) across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC), working to build an integrated ecosystem that empowers clinicians, researchers, and academic leaders across our network of institutions.
We are seeking a Senior Manager to lead the Academic Liaison & Strategic Relations team, serving as a key bridge between SingHealth, Duke-NUS, Duke Health USA, and our Academic Clinical Programmes (ACPs). You will drive strategic initiatives that strengthen the AMC partnership, support governance processes, and ensure that academic leaders and administrators are well-equipped to navigate and contribute to the AM framework.
What You Will Do:
You will provide leadership and strategic oversight for all initiatives under the Academic Liaison & Strategic Relations team, ensuring alignment with AMC goals and priorities. This includes leading and mentoring a team of staff, managing budgets and resources, monitoring progress through workplans and evaluations, and establishing frameworks and processes for new initiatives as they arise.
A significant part of your role involves overseeing the administrative management of ACP leadership appointments and renewals. You will plan and conduct joint searches for key leadership positions such as Academic Chairs, monitor appointment and renewal timelines, and oversee the preparation of letters of appointment. You will also oversee a suite of onboarding initiatives designed to equip ACP leaders and administrators with a strong understanding of the AM framework.
You will oversee the Enhanced Engagement Initiative for ACPs, working closely with ACP Academic Chairs and administrators to implement events such as family meetings and closed-door discussions. On the communications front, you will oversee the development of collaterals and toolkits for academic clinicians and stakeholders, coordinate the profiling of academic visitors, and ensure the SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC website remains a current and comprehensive AM resource.
Your role also encompasses the coordination of academic visits for overseas visitors, ensuring smooth operational support and compliance with budget and institutional policies. You will serve as a liaison with Duke Health, contributing to the strengthening and widening of collaborations and serving as a bridge between Duke Health and our ACPs to clarify expectations around academic visits and other academic matters. You will also develop frameworks and oversee the administrative process for joint appointments of Duke faculty with ACPs, working closely with Duke Health and Duke-NUS Human Resources.
Additionally, you will also oversee administrative and procurement matters for 15 ACPs, along with managing accounts and licences to support the broader AM community.
