About this role

[What the role is]
Enterprise Singapore's Trade Division drives Singapore's growth as a leading global trading hub. Under the Trade 2030 strategy, part of Singapore's Economy 2030 vision, we aim to deepen and widen trade by strengthening Singapore's position as a global trading centre, attracting international trading companies, expanding the range of commodities traded, and anchoring higher-value business activities and strategic functions in Singapore.

As part of the Metals & Minerals team, you will contribute to strengthening Singapore's position as a leading international hub for metals and minerals trading, while identifying new growth opportunities arising from evolving global supply chains, industrial transformation and the growing strategic importance of critical minerals.

[What you will be working on]

You will manage and develop a portfolio of leading international metals and minerals trading companies, and work closely with industry stakeholders to grow Singapore's metals and minerals trading ecosystem.

Your key responsibilities include:

- Business development and account management: Engage global metals and minerals producers, traders and other industry players to attract new investments, anchor trading operations and expand their business activities in Singapore. Work with existing companies to deepen their presence and establish higher-value functions, including regional headquarters, procurement, supply chain management and investment activities.
- Industry development and strategy: Monitor global metals and minerals markets, industry developments and emerging trends to identify growth opportunities for Singapore. Develop and implement strategies to strengthen Singapore’s competitiveness as a global trading hub.
- Critical minerals and emerging opportunities: Identify opportunities arising from the energy transition, advanced manufacturing and growing demand for critical minerals. Support initiatives to develop new trading activities, strengthen supply chain resilience and facilitate partnerships across regional and global minerals value chains.
- Stakeholder engagement and partnerships: Collaborate with government agencies, industry associations, international organisations and private-sector partners to strengthen Singapore’s trading ecosystem, address industry challenges and advance international trade cooperation.

[What we are looking for]

You should have a background in Business, Economics, Finance, International Trade or a related discipline, preferably with at least 3–5 years of relevant working experience in business development, account management, international trade or industry development.

We are looking for candidates who possess:

- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess market trends, identify business opportunities and formulate actionable recommendations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior business executives and work across diverse organisations.
- A proactive, resourceful and results-oriented mindset, with an interest in developing Singapore’s international trade sector.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, international business environment.

Knowledge of, or prior experience in, metals and minerals trading, commodity markets, supply chains or critical minerals would be an advantage. Candidates with relevant experience in other industries and a keen interest in international trade are also welcome to apply.

How We Work Together

We value individuals who work well with others, communicate clearly, take ownership of their work, and are open to learning and improvement. You should be comfortable navigating change and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
