Gas Engineer (Installer)

At Qualis as a Gas Engineer (Installer) you will be undertaking a range of gas related works to include servicing, breakdown repairs and installations.We have an exciting opportunity which will be based in Loughton, Essex. You will join us on a full-time basis in return for a salary between £38,000 - £40,000 per annum. Salary will reflect your skills and knowledge.You will also receive other benefits including:- Opportunity to earn a performance related cash bonus of up 15% of salary- Pension scheme contributions set at 7% of salary- Life Insurance cover at 4 x your annual salary- Private healthcare- 25 days a year holiday, plus bank holidaysYour role and responsibilitiesTo undertake all aspects of gas servicing, repairs and installationsExcellent understanding of gas installations, servicing and diagnostic skills across a range of boiler manufacturers and systemsCarryout works safely in line with current gas regulationsLiaison with other trades (sometimes subcontractors)Order and collect materialProficient in using electrical and manual equipmentExperience in social housingExcellent communication skillsExperience/accreditation in renewable energies an advantage but not essentialGeneral Key Accountabilities:Maintain impress van stock of materials including recording usage on handheld deviceUse the delivery service and “Pod” assigned to you, to replenish your impressed stock, while minimising travel and downtimeSpecify and order specialist materials where required to complete task. Minimise any wastageUsing the handheld device accurately to complete LGSR’s and record required information on job ordersEnsure standby log sheets, material orders, vehicle checks, annual leave requests are all completed through our systems and in line with our policiesAchieve relevant productivity and performance targets set on annual basisInform Supervisors of work orders requiring cancelling, follow on works or change in statusProduce short reports for Supervisors as requiredDraw any queries to a conclusionProduce a high level of first time fixEnsure company vehicle is only used in accordance with company vehicle policyEnsure the safe, effective use of tools and plant ensuring they are regularly maintained and serviced, and your supervisor is notified of any loss or damage.Compliance with all company policy and proceduresUnderstand and abide with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, Health & Safety regulations and ensure all work practices are safeCarry out risk assessments, reporting bad practice and dangerous occurrences to your supervisorPresent a positive image of Qualis Management, wearing corporate work wear whilst workingAct as an ambassador for Qualis Management and their Clients at all timesTo deliver quality workmanship within your specific trades and without close supervisionMeet appointments as arranged with customersOn completion of work inspect quality and be satisfied before leaving the customerSupervise apprentices if assigned and monitor the quality of their workUndertake flexible working patterns as required to provide effective, customer-focussed servicesTake part in the Out of Hours rotaCorporateEnsure our customer service and delivery is excellent and continually improves.Ensure that our protocols and policies are implementedDemonstrate our governance mechanisms, ensuring appropriate standards of performance, operational effectiveness, probity, safeguarding, risk management, safety, and equality are maintainedParticipate in projects to achieve the most effective services possible for the community, partners and the organisationWhat you will bring to the team:Knowledge and skills:Ability to prioritise workloads and minimise unproductive timeGood timekeeper with organisation and planning skillsSelf-motivated and a good team playerMake sound judgements in line with the company’s guidelines and objectivesExcellent communication and skills with a strong customer focusTo maintain an effective and professional approach at all times If you believe you have the skills and experience for the role, then we'd love to hear from you.Apply today!
