About this role

Do you enjoy cross-functional collaboration and customer-focused projects?

As a Project Engineer at GEA, you will gain valuable insight into our customers' products and production processes while playing an active role in designing and implementing systems that expand and optimise their operations.

From design to implementation, you can look forward to collaborating with skilled colleagues across our many areas of expertise to develop tailored solutions that meet each of our customers’ unique challenges.

At our office in Skanderborg, you will become part of our Liquid Technologies department, where we deliver customized liquid processing and engineering solutions primarily to the food and dairy industries in the Nordic region.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Joining GEA Liquid Technologies, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the full project lifecycle for liquid projects in the Nordic region – from sales through project execution and aftermarket services.

You will contribute to the execution of customer projects from design to handover (including commissioning and start-up), as well as occasionally participating in the pre-project and proposal stages. Depending on project size and your experience, you may assume responsibility for both the technical and commercial execution of projects, acting as project engineer and project manager.

Our projects typically run for 12 to 18 months and combine complex technical tasks with close collaboration across multiple disciplines.

More specifically, you will:

- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), mass balances and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for hygienic process applications and review associated 3D models prepared by technical designers.

- Size and specify process equipment, tanks and flow components, perform hydraulic and utility consumption calculations, and support plant layout optimisation.

- Serve as a technical point of contact for customers throughout project execution.

- Specify, procure and technically evaluate process equipment, packages and services from approved suppliers and subcontractors in collaboration with our procurement department.

- Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and resource planning.

- Coordinate process requirements with automation engineers to support functional design, control philosophy development and commissioning activities.

- Lead and support equipment commissioning, site acceptance testing (SAT), start-up and performance validation activities at customer sites.

As you will be collaborating closely with our customers, you can expect some travel in the Nordic region for customer meetings, supplier visits and customer site activities.

Your Profile / Qualifications

You enjoy building strong relationships across the organisation and naturally collaborate with colleagues to draw on their expertise. Combining an analytical mindset with a practical approach, you work through technical challenges while maintaining the attention to detail needed to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Additionally, we imagine that you bring:

- A degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, dairy engineering or a similar field.

- Previous experience in project engineering, process engineering or equipment design, preferably within food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical or related process industries.

- Experience with commissioning or start-up of liquid processing systems is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.

We are open to candidates at different stages of their careers. Responsibilities and degree of autonomy will be adapted to your experience level.

Finally, you preferably live near our site in Skanderborg, as this will be your regular work location.
