About this role

Description

Annapurna Labs builds the custom silicon and software behind AWS, including the AWS Nitro System, Graviton, and the Inferentia/Trainium machine learning accelerators. That software runs on millions of AWS servers and supports every EC2 customer.

The role
We're looking for a Senior TPM to drive large, cross-team software programs from planning through production. You'll work with engineering teams in Israel and the US, and with AWS service teams. You'll turn ambiguous goals into clear plans, own software release and deployment programs, and raise how well the org delivers. This is a technical role: you'll go deep on architecture, dependencies and tradeoffs with engineers and senior leaders.

Key job responsibilities
Own multi-team software programs end to end: new feature development, major releases, and fleet-wide deployments.
Define scope, milestones, dependencies and success metrics with engineering managers and principal engineers.
Run the program cadence: roadmaps, schedules, risk tracking, status reviews and launch readiness.
Own the software release process: release planning, quality gates, branching and versioning, and go/no-go decisions.
Drive safe deployment to the AWS fleet with service teams: rollout plans, monitoring and rollback readiness.
Find risks early, lead tradeoff decisions on scope, schedule and quality, and escalate clearly.
Improve how engineering works through better processes, tools and metrics (CI/CD, test coverage, delivery speed, operational excellence).
Write clear narratives (PR/FAQs, 6-pagers, program and operational reviews) for leadership up to VP level.

A day in the life
Your morning might start with a sync between the driver and firmware teams, where you sort out a dependency that's putting the next release at risk. You'll update the plan and agree on next steps before lunch.

Midday, you might join an architecture review with principal engineers on a new feature. You'll ask questions about scope, test strategy and rollout risk, and turn the discussion into milestones the teams can commit to.

In the afternoon, you could be leading a go/no-go meeting for a software release. You'll review quality gates, test results and open issues, then coordinate a safe, gradual rollout across the AWS fleet with partner service teams.

You'll finish the day writing a short program update for leadership: what's on track, what's at risk, and the decisions you need from them. Some days you'll write a PR/FAQ or 6-pager for a new initiative. On others you'll work with US-based teams in the evening to keep global work moving.

No two weeks look the same. One week you're supporting bring-up of new hardware, the next you're improving the CI/CD pipeline or running an operational review after an incident. The common thread is that you own outcomes, not just schedules.

About the team
Annapurna Labs is the AWS team that designs the custom chips behind the AWS cloud, including the AWS Nitro System, Graviton processors, and the Inferentia and Trainium machine learning accelerators. Our engineers in Israel work across the full stack, from chip design to the software that runs on millions of servers in AWS data centers.

Our software organization based in Haifa and Tel Aviv builds the low-level software that brings Annapurna's hardware to life: device drivers, firmware and hardware abstraction layers. This software sits between the chip and the AWS services above it. It has to be fast, secure and reliable at very large scale, because every EC2 customer depends on it.

As a TPM in this org, you'll sit at the center of the software lifecycle. You'll work with driver, firmware and platform teams, plus partner teams across AWS, to plan, build, release and deploy software from first bring-up to production. You'll be joining a small, senior team that operates like a startup inside AWS, with high ownership and direct impact on AWS infrastructure.
