Mechanical Technician Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Technician to support various forms of vehicle testing in a lab environment. Responsibilities

- The Technician is responsible for planning, setting up, and executing vehicle, subsystem, and componentlevel structural tests in the Body and Chassis labs.
- This role builds and operates complex test setups (including multiaxis rigs, chambers, and custom fixtures), ensures highquality data for development, regulatory, and PRTS/warranty investigations, and drives innovation in fixtures and test methods that support GMs safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Build, set up, and run full vehicle, subsystem, and component structural tests using SDL rigs (multi axis shakers, 4DOF/6DOF rigs, static/dynamic tools, chambers, solar room, etc.).
- Execute durability, development, and problem solving tests to support VDDV, valuations, plants, and suppliers (e.g., closures, anchorage, power closures, chassis, wiper systems, mastic and seal evaluations).
- Support and, when trained, lead regulatory test execution to certified procedures and standard work.

Essential Skills

- HS Diploma required, Associate's Degree preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with hand tools, fabrication tools, and (preferred) test equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment This role is ideal for candidates with strong hands-on electrical and mechanical aptitude who enjoy working in a fast-paced automotive development and testing environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Warren, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
