College of Nursing and Health Care Professions

Health Information Technology and Management : This course provides information and skills the health care administrator will require to integrate information technology and systems within the health care environment. Students examine basic components and functions of health care management information systems (HMIS) that work to manage data and resources which influence point-of-care decision-making by providers. Issues surrounding privacy, security, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care operations are also explored.

Location:

GCU Main Campus – Phoenix, AZ

·         In-person, on-campus instruction

·         Term: Spring 2027 – January 4th – April 23rd

·         Time: Wednesday/Friday 9am-10:45am

- Facilitate classroom instruction and discussions
- Engage students in achieving course learning outcomes
- Assess student performance and provide feedback
- Incorporate current industry knowledge and best practices into teaching
- Support the mission and values of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Masters in Health Care Administration (MHCA) or

·         Masters in Health Administration (MHA) or

·         Masters in Public Administration (MPA) or

·         Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or

·         Masters in Nursing (MSN)

·          AND 5 years work experience in health care management or health care accounting and billing or health care administration in a hospital or acute care or managed care or ambulatory care physician group or long-term care setting
