About this role
San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Ram Jeep is seeking an experienced, dedicated and technical-focused Service Shop Assistant Manager to lead our team of technicians. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing techs, and maintaining a safe and efficient workshop. You will act as a liaison between the Service Manager, Service Advisors and Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the daily workflow of technicians and service advisors to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and accurately
- Assist in recruiting, scheduling, and training service staff. Lead daily huddles and coach the team on sales techniques and product knowledge
- Monitor shop performance and implement strategies for improvement
- Enforce all safety policies (OSHA) and ensure the shop remains clean and organized.
- Work with the manager to achieve sales, productivity, and gross margin objectives
- Oversee inventory, order supplies, and maintain shop equipment
Requirements
- 2+ Years of prior experience in automotive repair and leadership roles
- 2+ Years Stellantis technician experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a team effectively
- Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems (Dealertrack, Dealerconnect preferred)
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Must have a clean driving record and valid DL.
- Must be willing to complete a background check and possible drug test
