About this role

At Ana Luisa, we believe fine jewelry should be beautifully crafted, responsibly made, and designed to be worn every day. Rooted in modern luxury, we create elevated pieces defined by exceptional craftsmanship, timeless design, and intentional artistry.

About the job
We are looking for a Product Development Lead reporting into the Director of PD and Production. This is a pivotal, hands-on role driving the development of our upcoming product ranges — with a particular focus on mainline fashion and solid gold jewelry. You'll work directly with vendors to make sure every piece meets the standards of quality, sustainability, and design Ana Luisa is known for, taking products from concept all the way to bulk-ready.

It's a great fit for someone scrappy and entrepreneurial who likes to own their work end-to-end. This is a highly visible role with significant cross-functional collaboration across the company — including working directly with our founders.
### What you’ll be responsible for:

- Own product development for our mainline fashion and solid gold lines, from sourcing request to wholesale-ready and bulk PO issue
- Turn sourcing requests into development: complete the tech pack before anything goes to a vendor, brief vendors and place development
- Drive protos, V2s and market samples against the PD calendar, and partner with Design and Merchandising in sample, spec and design reviews
- Have costing in hand for every style the same week samples are reviewed, and bring cost-engineered options when a target is at risk
- Get every line developed, costed and sampled ahead of each wholesale market, and speak to market readiness in our Wholesale Readiness meetings
- Set up styles in our PIM and Fulfill systems before market so bulk orders can be placed, then hand off cleanly to our Production Lead
- Manage market and creative samples
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, including regular visits to production sites to ensure ethical practices and quality control
- Represent PD in Order This Week and sprint meetings: come in with a point of view on dates, cost and tradeoffs, and drive to decisions
- Flag any at-risk date at least two weeks out, with a new date, the root cause and a recovery plan
- Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends and consumer preferences in the sustainable jewelry space

What you’ll bring:

- 5+ years in product development, ideally with a jewelry focus — solid gold experience is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of jewelry production techniques, materials, and ethical sourcing
- Hands-on experience building tech packs, costing styles and taking a line through wholesale market
- Proficiency in product and production systems (PIM/PLM, OMS, EDI) and design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD)
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail
- A scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset — you're resourceful, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-moving environment
- A strong communicator and sharp critical thinker who can negotiate, problem-solve, and collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners
- A genuine passion for sustainability and ethical fashion
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Jewelry Design, Product Development, or a related field preferred

What you’ll love about us:

- Health Insurance and Wellness:  Medical, Dental, Vision, Sick days and 6 additional Joint days off
- 401K with matching
- Time Off: Unlimited Paid Time Off; Generous Paid Parental Leave
- Brand Perks: Employee discount; Welcome gift card, Birthday Gift Card
- Office Perks: Bagel Thursdays; In-office and Offsite events; Flexible WFH policy
- Others: Commuter benefits; Fun & friendly company culture
Compensation
As required by the New York State salary transparency law, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $85,000- $90,000. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skills, training, experience, and our organizational structure.
