PRN Medical Assistant-PACE Outpatient Clinic-(9AM-4:30)

Job Description:

Summary:

Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of physician, and is responsible for keeping the community’s health clinic running in an efficient

and service-oriented manner.

Responsibilities

Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.

Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.

Interview patients to obtain basic medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.

Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.

Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.

Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies per physician authorization.

Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physician's instructions to patients.

Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

Discuss prescriptions and nutrition with patients.

Schedule appointments.

Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.

Other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Must be CPR certified.
- Minimum one year of experience. Experience in an Assisted Living or
- Nursing home environment preferred.

Must have one of the following Certifications:

- The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- The Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- The National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

EverTrue Pay & Benefits

Pay grade: 10, $18.05/hour to $28.80/hour.
