About this role
Overview/ Job Responsibilities
Join Entarian as an Operations Superintendent
Entarian is seeking a highly capable, mission-focused Operations Superintendent to lead integrated Network and Cyber Operations supporting mission-critical services. This position translates operational priorities into disciplined execution, ensures workforce readiness, coordinates incident response, and drives continuous improvement across a complex, 24/7/365 operational environment.
The ideal candidate combines demonstrated operational leadership with strong systems thinking—the ability to understand how people, processes, technology, training, and mission requirements interact to produce reliable operational outcomes. This individual will lead through clear expectations, sound judgment, collaboration, and accountability while helping mature the operational model and Readiness & Qualification System (RQS) for a growing mission environment.
JOB OVERVIEW
As the Operations Superintendent, you will:
- Lead Integrated Operations: Oversee daily operational execution across Network and Cyber Operations, ensuring personnel, processes, and technical functions work together to maintain service availability, operational awareness, and mission-partner support.
- Maintain 24/7/365 Operational Accountability: Ensure effective coverage, shift continuity, readiness, escalation, and response across all operational shifts. Provide leadership and after-hours support for significant incidents and conditions requiring senior operational coordination, without serving as routine around-the-clock shift coverage.
- Coordinate Incident Response and Escalation: Ensure incidents move through a clear, effective escalation pathway connecting Operations Center crews, Network Engineering, Systems Administration, SOC/Cybersecurity personnel, and the Incident Response Team (IRT), with appropriate technical ownership and response authority preserved.
- Lead and Develop Personnel: Establish expectations for performance, accountability, professional development, teamwork, and mission ownership. Manage assigned personnel and workforce activities while maintaining clear supervisory relationships and coordinating formal employment matters through established company processes.
- Develop and Implement the RQS: Lead operational implementation and contribute to the continued development and maturation of the Readiness & Qualification System. Help ensure all applicable Mission Essential Tasks (METs) are defined, trained, evaluated, and sustained across individuals, crews, and the operational enterprise.
- Build and Validate Operational Readiness: Integrate qualification, proficiency, exercises, incident lessons learned, and performance evaluations into a continuous readiness cycle. Ensure personnel demonstrate operational competence rather than relying on training completion alone.
- Establish Operational Discipline: Translate approved concepts of operations, procedures, and standards into consistent execution, effective reporting, clear escalation, and measurable operational performance.
- Drive Systems Thinking and Continuous Improvement: Identify systemic issues and opportunities across people, processes, technology, and organizational interfaces. Develop practical improvements to monitoring, analytics, incident response, automation, training, and operational effectiveness.
- Support Mission-Partner Outcomes: Maintain a mission-partner-first approach, ensuring operational decisions consider service health, mission impact, risk, competing priorities, and the need for timely, accurate communication.
- Advise Operations Leadership: Provide clear assessments of operational performance, workforce readiness, emerging risks, resource requirements, and recommended improvements to the Operations Director and SOC Manager.
The Operations Superintendent is accountable for integrated operational execution and workforce effectiveness. This position works through established supervisory relationships and coordinates across functional leaders; it does not supersede designated technical, cybersecurity, incident command, Human Resources, or government decision authorities.
