Payments Compliance is transforming how we work through the thoughtful application of artificial intelligence. We are looking for an AI Transformation Lead to turn that strategy into action across our global Payments Compliance organization. This includes Governance, Sanctions, Know Your Customer (KYC), case reviews, and regulatory filings.

This role is ideal for someone who understands compliance, is energized by emerging technology, and enjoys getting into the details of complex processes to figure out how they can work better. You will partner closely with knowledgeable professionals and technology teams to find opportunities, reimagine existing processes, and bring practical AI-enabled solutions from concept to implementation.

##

As the AI Transformation Lead, you will serve as a key execution partner for the transformation strategy in Payments Compliance AI. Working alongside subject matter experts across each compliance vertical, you will identify and assess high-value AI opportunities, challenge existing ways of working, translate business problems into actionable use cases and requirements, and help drive solutions through implementation.

You will manage and sustain the Payments Compliance AI portfolio and roadmap. You will help prioritize initiatives based on feasibility, business value, compliance risk, and encouraged impact. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution - whether mapping a complex compliance process, developing a case, prototyping an AI solution, refining requirements with engineers, participating in testing, or troubleshooting implementation challenges.

What You’ll Do

- Partner with SMEs across Governance, Sanctions, KYC, Investigations, and Regulatory Reporting to identify processes and difficulties where AI can meaningfully improve effectiveness, efficiency, consistency, or risk management.
- Assess existing processes and help reimagine how work should be performed using AI, rather than simply automating current-state workflows.
- Translate compliance problems and operational needs into well-defined AI use cases, business requirements, workflows, and success criteria.
- Own and maintain the strategic plan and collection for Payments Compliance AI, including use-case intake, prioritization, dependencies, encouraged benefits, implementation status, and realized outcomes.
- Develop business cases for AI initiatives by assessing current-state effort, expected efficiency gains, capacity savings, risk reduction, and other measurable benefits.
- Partner with product management, software development, data analytics, Responsible AI, and other teams during the development lifecycle. Support AI initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Develop hands-on prototypes and proof-of-concepts where appropriate using resources like tailored GPTs, Gems, Claude Code, and other emerging AI capabilities.
- Participate in solution design, testing, validation, and iteration to ensure AI-enabled solutions address the underlying compliance need and perform effectively in real-world workflows.
- Serve as an engaged Compliance stakeholder in Responsible AI, Legal, Privacy, and other applicable review processes, helping ensure appropriate human oversight, explainability, control integrity, auditability, and regulatory defensibility.
- Stay current on developing AI innovations and proactively evaluate how new technologies can be applied responsibly within Payments Compliance.

What You’ll Bring

- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in compliance, financial services, technology transformation, or process improvement. This includes experience applying AI or automation to business problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience within financial crimes, payments compliance, or a related regulatory rigor, with subject matter expertise in at least one area such as AML/investigations, sanctions, KYC, regulatory reporting, compliance governance, testing, or supervising strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of generative AI, large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, prompt engineering, workflow automation, and AI-enabled process transformation.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work hands-on with AI tools, with experience building custom GPTs, Gems, AI workflows, prototypes, or similar solutions strongly preferred. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail along with understanding complex compliance workflows, recognizing opportunities for transformation, and translating business needs into clear requirements.
- Ability to develop compelling, data-informed business cases and assess the potential value, feasibility, and impact of AI initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively across Compliance, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and other technical and non-technical teams without direct authority.
- Strong judgment and an understanding of the unique regulatory, governance, control, and human-oversight considerations associated with using AI in a compliance environment.
- Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and capacity to rapidly gain working knowledge across multiple Payments Compliance fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate effectively between compliance subject matter experts and technical partners.
