About this role

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

Job Description Summary:
The Energy Storage Assistant Project Manager, Project Development coordinates the front-end development of utility-scale energy storage projects, from receipt of the request for proposal (RFP) through estimating, proposal submission, and transition into preconstruction. This role partners closely with Business Development, Estimating, Engineering, and Scheduling to support project scoping, pricing, design, and commercial evaluation, ensuring each opportunity is executable, competitively positioned, and commercially viable upon award.

This position combines project management with hands-on estimating and scheduling. It plays a key role in managing the RFP process and advancing projects toward execution by developing technical and commercial deliverables and coordinating engineering, estimating, scheduling, contracting, and proposal efforts to ensure a smooth, efficient transition to the Preconstruction team.

This is a remote position, with the option to work from a SOLV corporate office. Travel is based on business needs and may account for up to 25% of working time.

- Estimating

- Prepare electrical estimates, takeoffs and bill of materials as needed, working alongside the Estimating team.

- Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontract bid packages.

- Coordinate with Estimating to ensure pricing reflects current project scope, engineering input, and contract requirements, and that estimating efforts are completed in time to meet client deadlines.

- Organize and evaluate historical project and estimating data to improve the accuracy of future estimates. Develop unit rates for key estimating metrics.

- Schedule and Cashflow Development

- Build initial project schedules and cashflow projections for inclusion in client proposals.

- Track key schedule deliverables across the front-end development process to ensure deadlines are met.

- Define and create LNTP pricing, cashflows, and schedules.

- Preconstruction Activities

- Compile handoff documentation and prepare presentations to support a clean, organized transition to the Preconstruction team.

- Partner with Preconstruction to update pricing as design advances, tracking design and pricing changes from the initial estimate. Finalize pricing for EPC contract execution.
