Forklift Operator (Stand-Up / Sit-Down / Electric Pallet Jack)
Location: Ronkonkoma, NY
Position Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $23.00 / hour (based on shift and experience)
Available Shifts:
1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
About the Role
A leading commercial manufacturing and distribution facility located in Ronkonkoma, NY, is seeking motivated and experienced Forklift Operators to join their warehouse team. This is a solid temp-to-hire opportunity offering consistent weekly hours, shift stability, and long-term career growth in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate powered industrial equipment, including stand-up forklifts, 3-wheel sit-down lifts, Drexel/VNA trucks, and ride-on electric pallet jacks.
Stage, lift, stack, and transport pallets, packaging, and finished goods throughout the warehouse, production areas, etc.
Load and unload commercial trailers, stage outbound shipments for route drivers, and verify incoming freight against shipping manifests.
Accurately track inventory movements by recording put-away, let-down, and pick sheets; update shipping logs and pick slips as required.
Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections, charge batteries, and immediately report mechanical issues to maintenance.
Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Collaborate with warehouse leads and cross-functional teams to maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready staging floor.
Qualifications & Requirements
1–2+ years of verified forklift experience (stand-up, sit-down, and electric pallet jack preferred).
Previous experience in production, cold storage/freezer facilities, or a GMP-regulated distribution environment is a strong plus.
Working knowledge of warehouse safety standards, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and basic food safety practices.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality.
Ability to work comfortably in varying warehouse temperatures (including refrigerated and freezer areas with appropriate gear provided).
Reliable transportation to Ronkonkoma, NY.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.00 - $23.00
