About this role
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
Automation, AI-Enabled Quality Engineering & Containerization Validation
We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to drive quality engineering for Teamcenter and Active Integration Gateway (AIG) solutions. The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable automation, applying AI to improve test design and execution, validating Teamcenter–AIG integration flows, and assuring containerized deployments across cloud and on-premises environments. The engineer will collaborate with developers, product owners, DevOps, and cross-functional teams throughout the release lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for Teamcenter, AIG, APIs, services, and end-to-end integration workflows.
- Apply AI-assisted techniques to accelerate test-case generation, script development, test-data preparation, defect analysis, log analysis, troubleshooting, and regression optimization.
- Validate functional, system, integration, regression, exploratory, risk-based, and user-story-driven scenarios for Teamcenter–AIG and PLM–ERP data flows.
- Test containerized applications and services, including image validation, deployment, configuration, networking, scaling, upgrade, rollback, resilience, and compatibility checks.
- Build and maintain automation within CI/CD pipelines and provide clear execution reports, quality metrics, and defect evidence.
- Provision and maintain cloud, on-premises, and container-based test environments using repeatable infrastructure and configuration automation.
- Validate integration security, including authentication, authorization, certificates, encryption, secrets, and connectivity.
- Analyse failures across application, integration, infrastructure, and container layers; perform root-cause analysis and collaborate with engineering teams on resolution.
- Support release, branch, and deployment validation while ensuring traceability from requirements to automated tests and defects.
- Promote reusable automation components, coding standards, review practices, and continuous improvement in quality engineering.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in Teamcenter quality engineering and test automation, including automated validation of Teamcenter applications, APIs, integrations, and containerized solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience in test automation using Java, Python, JavaScript, or a comparable language, with frameworks such as Cucumber/BDD, Selenium, Playwright, REST API automation, or equivalent.
- Experience using AI coding or testing assistants and the ability to evaluate AI-generated tests for correctness, coverage, maintainability, privacy, and security.
- Good understanding of Teamcenter concepts, administration, data model, services, and integration use cases.
- Hands-on knowledge of AIG or comparable enterprise integration/middleware solutions connecting PLM and ERP systems.
- Experience validating integrations with ERP solutions such as SAP, including data mapping, transformation, synchronization, error handling, and recovery.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and container validation; knowledge of Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform is strongly preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD and version-control tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
- Working knowledge of Linux, cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.
- Good Understanding of secure networking, encryption, identity management, such as TLS/SSL, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or SAML and security standards, such as EU-CRA, FIPS
- Experience with infrastructure or configuration automation such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills in an Agile environment.
