About this role

Summary

This Sales Specialist role for OpenShift, focused on Application Platform & AI Enterprise, drives commercial growth and customer adoption across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider APAC region. As enterprises move past isolated AI experiments toward production systems, they face an urgent imperative to secure their software supply chains. By connecting modern Software Factory architectures with the capabilities of Lightwell, you will establish OpenShift as the trusted hybrid platform where organisations build, validate, and deploy intelligent applications at enterprise scale.

Role overview

Modern software delivery demands an integrated application platform that eliminates infrastructure complexity, standardises runtimes, and unifies containers, virtual machines, and AI workloads across hybrid clouds. Yet as software engineering shifts toward autonomous development, the window between discovering a security flaw and seeing it exploited has collapsed. Organisations can no longer rely on manual patching. They need an automated Software Factory where the Agentic Software Development Lifecycle can thrive, enabling autonomous agents to write, test, and release application code within strict boundaries of enterprise governance, auditing, and continuous compliance.

In this role, you will stand before C-level executives, Engineering leaders, Architects as a trusted advisor and cloud-native evangelist. As a sales professional, you’ll build a sustainable, multi-quarter pipeline by positioning OpenShift as the common platform for secure software factories and enterprise AI. By translating complex architectural advantages into decisive commercial value, you will show clients how an open hybrid platform preserves digital sovereignty, eliminates proprietary lock-in, and moves them from experimental AI to governed, production ready capabilities.

What you will do

- Direct the end-to-end sales strategy for major opportunities, orchestrating technical specialists and partner ecosystems to secure the technical close and grow subscriptions.
- Expand enterprise AI adoption by showing clients how to deploy, manage, and scale autonomous agent workflows and distributed inference on a unified hybrid platform.
- Capitalise on the Lightwell initiative to accelerate OpenShift sales, positioning our platform as the essential delivery vehicle to ingest, validate, and roll out patched libraries at machine speed.
- Position Software Factory capabilities as the definitive solution for organisations facing strict security mandates, continuous compliance rules, and digital sovereignty requirements.
- Build credible economic business cases for executive buyers, proving lower total cost of ownership, improved hardware utilisation, and accelerated developer delivery.
- Guide enterprises through modernising legacy virtualisation and proprietary platforms toward flexible, cloud-native container architectures.
- Collaborate with Account Teams to define the technical landscape within strategic account plans, aligning customer business priorities with platform strategy
- Enable and mentor broader account teams on current OpenShift sales plays, partner solution blueprints, and domain-specific use cases.

What you will bring

- Experience leading and closing complex, high-stakes enterprise platform deals involving multiple technical and commercial decision-makers.
- Proven ability as a public speaker and cloud-native evangelist who can command a room, simplify technical complexity, and inspire confidence in executive leaders.
- Thorough understanding of Kubernetes, enterprise container platforms, modern developer tooling, and automated Software Factory pipelines.
- Clear command of the enterprise AI lifecycle, including distributed inference, model serving, and emerging agentic software development workflows.
- Consultative challenger mindset that uncovers hidden operational costs, reframes problems, and guides customers toward open, sovereign architectures.
- Entrepreneurial energy to build sustainable pipeline and run a broad territory across Australia, New Zealand, and the wider APAC region.
