Full Job Description We are seeking an experienced Innovation & Ecosystem Communications Manager to help shape and amplify the story of our innovation initiatives, with a particular focus on the Lenovo Innovation Accelerator and its global presence. This role sits at the intersection of technology, venture capital, startups, and strategic communications. The ideal candidate brings strong communications expertise, a deep understanding of the technology and innovation ecosystem, and the credibility to engage with VCs, startup founders, C-level executives, and other influential voices in the global technology community. You will help build Lenovo’s presence and relevance within the innovation ecosystem, translating our innovation strategy, partnerships, and activities into compelling narratives and meaningful external engagement, particularly in overseas markets. Description In this role, you will develop and execute communications and engagement strategies for Lenovo’s innovation initiatives and broader technology ecosystem. A critical part of the role is building and maintaining strong relationships across the external innovation community, including venture capital firms, startup founders and executives, emerging technology companies, media, and industry influencers. You should be equally comfortable engaging with a founder or VC partner on technology and business trends as you are developing an executive narrative or communications strategy. You will serve as a strategic communications partner and primary writer for key initiatives, developing executive briefings, speeches, talking points, external narratives, event content, and other communications materials. The role requires someone who is deeply curious about technology and business, understands how innovation ecosystems work, and can translate complex technologies and emerging trends into credible, relevant stories for different audiences. Job Responsibilities • Develop and execute global communications and engagement strategies for Lenovo’s innovation initiatives, with a particular focus on the Lenovo Innovation Accelerator and its presence in international markets. • Build and strengthen relationships with venture capital firms, startup founders, C-level executives, technology entrepreneurs, media, and other key influencers within the global innovation ecosystem. • Establish Lenovo as an active and credible participant in conversations around AI, PCs, emerging technologies, startups, entrepreneurship, and the future of computing. • Identify opportunities for Lenovo executives and innovation leaders to engage with the broader technology and venture ecosystem through strategic meetings, industry events, thought leadership, media engagement, and ecosystem partnerships. • Develop compelling narratives and communications materials, including executive briefings, talking points, speeches, presentations, messaging frameworks, media materials, and thought leadership content. • Translate complex technology, startup, investment, and business topics into clear and compelling stories for external audiences. • Support communications and external engagement around accelerator programs, startup collaborations, technology showcases, major industry events, and other innovation initiatives. • Serve as a trusted communications partner to senior executives, providing strategic counsel, messaging support, and external stakeholder preparation. • Work closely with global colleagues across Public Relations, Marketing Communications, Product Marketing, Strategy, and other relevant teams to ensure consistent positioning and maximize impact. • Monitor emerging technology, startup, and venture capital trends to identify relevant conversations, companies, founders, and opportunities for Lenovo to engage. Preferred Qualifications • Strong network and/or demonstrated experience working with the venture capital, startup, and technology innovation ecosystem, particularly in the U.S. and other global technology markets. • Proven ability to engage credibly with VC partners, startup founders, entrepreneurs, and C-level technology executives. • Strong understanding of the technology landscape, with particular familiarity with AI, PCs, computing, and emerging technology startups. • Demonstrated experience developing communications and external engagement strategies for technology companies, innovation programs, startups, venture capital firms, or related organizations. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technology and business topics into clear, compelling narratives. • Strong executive presence and experience working closely with senior leaders. • Ability to combine communications judgment with business and technology fluency, rather than approaching communications purely as content development. • Strong external relationship-building skills and comfort representing an organization with senior external stakeholders. • Experience working across cultures, geographies, and global teams. • Intellectually curious and highly engaged with developments across technology, AI, startups, and venture capital. • Self-starter with strong strategic thinking, judgment, and ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum Qualifications • 5+ years of relevant experience in strategic communications, public relations, technology communications, venture/startup communications, or a related field. • Demonstrated experience developing messaging and communications strategies for senior executives and external audiences. • Experience engaging with senior external stakeholders in the technology, startup, investment, or innovation ecosystem. • Strong understanding of technology businesses and the ability to quickly develop credibility on complex technology topics. Priority will be given to candidates with established experience and relationships across the global technology startup and venture capital ecosystem, particularly those with exposure to AI, PCs, computing, and emerging technologies.
