ABOUT US

Transforming lives through excellent education

London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving some of London’s most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.

Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture, public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around the world.

Our new hybrid working approach gives our staff the flexibility to work in a way that better suits their lifestyle. We are highly committed in the ongoing further development, support and progression of our HR team

ABOUT THE POST

Are you looking to start or develop your career in Human Resources? We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join our HR Operations team as an HR Assistant.

This role is ideal for someone with some previous experience in an HR environment, or a related area such as recruitment, payroll, or administration within a large and complex organisation. It offers an excellent opportunity to build your knowledge and develop practical experience across a broad range of HR activities.

As part of the HR Operations team, you will provide administrative support to our Schools and Professional Service Departments, gaining exposure to a wide variety of HR processes and employee lifecycle activities. Your responsibilities will include supporting advertising vacancies, preparing contracts and contractual amendments, maintaining employee records, and responding to HR-related queries from colleagues across the University.

We are looking for someone with strong administrative skills and experience of working with office systems and processes. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships, provide excellent customer service, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Given the sensitive nature of the role, the ability to handle confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and tact is essential.

A CIPD qualification, or a willingness to work towards one, would be advantageous.
