About this role

Marketing | Toronto or Waterloo, hybrid | Reports to the CEO

Silvie is building the Oura for seniors and health.

Silvie helps older adults live safer, longer and better in their own homes, and gives their families peace of mind. No cameras. Nothing to wear. Silvie is the consumer brand of Pontosense, whose technology is live in 24 countries, and it launches nationally in January.

The best way to show what Silvie stands for is through the people who live it.

Why now

Silvie is about living well, not living in fear. The Silvie Ambassador Programme brings together older adults who are stars in their communities: people who have built successful lives and are still out there enjoying them. Alongside them are the families who support them. These are the people who represent Silvie, and as we launch in Canada and the US, we need someone to find them, bring them together and share their stories.

The Role

Your mandate is the Silvie Ambassador community. You'll find and recruit remarkable older adults and their families, build real relationships with them, and turn their experiences into testimonials, stories and videos that show what Silvie is about. You'll create real-life experiences that bring the community together. Social media is part of the job, but it isn't the centre of it. This is a building role. The programme is new, and you'll shape it.

What You'll Do

- Find the stars: recruit older adults who are thriving, active and respected in their communities, along with the families around them.

- Build real relationships: get to know each ambassador personally, and make the programme something they are proud to be part of.

- Capture their stories: gather testimonials, interviews and videos, with consent, that the team can use across the website, sales, partners and press.

- Create real-life experiences: plan and host gatherings, events and moments that bring ambassadors together and introduce new people to Silvie.

- Support the team: give marketing, sales and product the stories, quotes, footage and insights they need.

- Share it well: work with the content team to share ambassador stories on social and in our channels, with care and dignity.

- Listen and bring it back: bring what ambassadors and their families tell you to product and support.

- Run the programme: a clear calendar, simple tracking, and recognition that makes ambassadors feel valued.

What Makes This Hard

- Respect first: our ambassadors are accomplished people, not testimonials on demand. Every interaction has to honour that.

- Aspiration, not fear: stories should show people living fully, never frailty or worry.

- Two audiences: older adults themselves, and the families who love them.

- Two countries at once: a community that works in Canada and the US.

- Personal at scale: it has to feel one-to-one as it grows.

What Success Looks Like

First 90 days

- The first group of ambassadors is recruited, welcomed and engaged.

- The first testimonials and videos are live and being used by the team.

- The first ambassador gathering has happened, and people want to come back.

6 to 12 months

- A growing community of ambassadors across Canada and the US.

- A steady library of stories, testimonials and video the whole company draws on.

- Regular real-life events that people look forward to.

- Ambassadors are a real source of referrals and new families.

The test: people ask how they can become an ambassador.

This is for you if

- You have built or run community, ambassador, membership, alumni or events programmes, roughly 2 to 5 years in.

- You genuinely enjoy older adults, and you are at ease with a retired executive, a community leader or a grandparent.

- You can spot a great story, and you know how to capture it, from a written testimonial to a short video.

- You love bringing people together in person, and you sweat the details that make an event feel special.

- You are organized, and nothing slips through the cracks.

- You write warmly and clearly.

- Bonus: senior living, wellness or health; video production; events; referral programmes.

This isn't for you if

- You mainly want to run social media.

- You prefer to stay behind a screen.

- Follow-through isn't your strength.

Where This Goes

The person who builds this well becomes the owner of the Silvie community, and grows into leading it as the community scales.
