About this role
Furniture Delivery & Assembly Pros: Step Into Management – Quality Control Manager
You've spent years on the truck. Now put that experience to work leading the operation.
If you've run your own delivery and assembly business, you already know what separates a good team from a bad one. You know how to carry a sectional up three flights without a scratch, how to read assembly instructions that don't make sense, and how a customer reacts when the crew walks in. Diakon wants that knowledge in management.
This is a salaried leadership role for a former independent contractor who is ready to step off the truck. You won't have truck payments, insurance, fuel, or settlement disputes to manage. You'll have a steady paycheck, bonus potential, and a real path to grow.
About Diakon
Diakon Logistics delivers big and bulky products, including furniture and large appliances, for leading national retailers. Our 2-man teams run 26' box trucks and handle delivery, installation, assembly, and setup. We're growing, and we promote from within.
What You'll Do
- Vet new contractors. Evaluate the experience and work quality of new delivery contractors, drivers, and helpers before they run routes. You'll know who's legit, because you've been there.
- Ride along and audit. Get in the truck with our teams, watch how they handle product, interact with customers, and assemble. Document what you see and give direct, useful feedback.
- Track performance. Monitor on-time delivery, damage rates, assembly quality, and customer satisfaction. Spot trends and build corrective action plans.
- Train and coach. Teach contractors our standards and share what works across the network.
- Fix problems. Investigate customer complaints about delivery and assembly quality and work with contractors to keep them from happening again.

- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as a furniture delivery and/or assembly contractor. Owner-operators and team leads are strongly preferred.
- An eye for quality work and the confidence to call out bad work
- Solid knowledge of white-glove delivery practices, safe handling, and assembly standards

- Good organization and documentation habits
