About this role

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Visual Designers weave space, typography, color, and iconography to help people successfully navigate our products, ensuring they are beautiful and accessible. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to leverage user insights and create industry-leading products.

As a Visual Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

As a Senior Visual Systems Designer on the Geo Makers team, you will lead visual design direction, brand expression, and system coherence across a varied, technically sophisticated geospatial portfolio. You will bring deep visual craft to ensure our developer web experiences, customizable Software Development Kit (SDK) components, conversational AI kits, and geospatial analytics tools are intuitive, legible, and built for technical problem solvers. Operating across high-density spatial data streams, developer interfaces, and partner ecosystems, you will transform complex mapping challenges into cohesive visual frameworks, customizable UI components, and scalable design systems.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
