Maintenance Technician I

Brief Description

Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I, initially under direct supervision, perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled duties in the maintenance department, repair and servicing of buildings, facilities, equipment and mechanical systems.

Key Accountabilities

- Help troubleshooting, repair work and preventative maintenance on all plant machinery, equipment and instrumentation to sustain plant operations at highly efficient levels
- Equipment includes mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and fluid handling systems
- Assist in installing production equipment and machinery.
- Complete documentation process for machinery usage, equipment maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness of maintenance equipment shop, and tools.
- Assist in dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Help in maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance, janitorial and facility supplies.
- Maintain familiarity with manufacturing equipment and relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Operate forklift to help aid in moving equipment/machinery.

Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors

- High School Diploma/GED required; Trade or technical certification preferred.
- Must have at least one (1) year of preventative maintenance experience.
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision may be required.
- Must be able to physically complete required tasks including standing for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, climb ladders/stairs, work on roofs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs
- Must be familiar with machine shop tools and equipment.
