About this role
The Group Leader – Parks and Cleansing will provide visionary leadership for the Council’s parks, green spaces and cleansing services, ensuring they align with the City & County of Swansea’s corporate priorities and place‑making agenda. This senior manager will shape strategy, manage resources, and champion sustainability while delivering high‑quality services to residents and visitors.

- Proven senior management experience in parks, environmental services or a related field.
- Degree in environmental management, public administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver strategic plans.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience of budgetary control.
- Knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and partnership building.
- Ability to analyse data and produce clear performance reports.
- Commitment to sustainability and climate action.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
