The successful candidate will have experience teaching GCSE or IGCSE Geography, ideally Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Geography (Specification A), with a strong understanding of physical and human geography, geographical enquiry, fieldwork and examination preparation. With our Sixth Form opening in 2027/28, we are particularly interested in candidates with A Level Geography teaching experience, or those with the expertise and potential to deliver outstanding A Level teaching. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help establish and develop our Pearson Edexcel A Level Geography course, including its independent investigation component, shaping a rigorous and engaging programme as the Sixth Form grows.
The role will also involve teaching across Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9), where students explore physical landscapes, global development, environmental change, geopolitics and the relationship between people and places. We value teachers who bring Geography to life through contemporary examples, fieldwork and geographical enquiry. An ability or willingness to teach History at Key Stage 3 would be desirable, but is not essential.
We seek an adaptable, intellectually curious and collaborative professional who will maintain high academic expectations, inspire enthusiasm for Geography and contribute to the continued development of the subject at King's College School.
When applying, please ensure your CV includes full details of your academic qualifications (institution, dates and grades), alongside a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role and reasons for wishing to join King's College School, The Bahamas.
