About this role

NHS Sales Development Representative (Healthcare technology)

Location: Hybrid (mainly remote) with some UK travel as required

The opportunity

- Help build an NHS pipeline from the ground up.

- You'll identify, engage and qualify new opportunities across the NHS, then hand them to the commercial team to take through the sales cycle.

- You'll target GP Federations, Primary Care Networks, NHS Trusts, Community Diagnostic Centres and Integrated Care Boards.

Key responsibilities

Market mapping and prospecting

- Use available data to map target ICBs, Trusts, GP Federations and CDCs. Prioritise those with a clear diagnostic need, backlogs or service redesign plans.
- Identify key stakeholders in each account. These include clinicians, nurses and physiologists, plus service managers, transformation leads, commissioners and procurement.
- Use national and regional NHS priorities to target your outreach.

Engagement

- Run multi-channel outreach (virtual calls, email, LinkedIn and events) to secure first meetings with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
- Lead discovery conversations about current diagnostic pathways, pain points, capacity and patient outcomes.
- Explain the clinical and operational value of the solution and its supporting evidence, staying within approved claims.
- Bring in colleagues from clinical, technical and operational teams where they add value.
- Represent the business at conferences, NHS network meetings and regional events.

Qualification and handover

- Qualify opportunities against an agreed framework in Salesforce and build a strong top-of-funnel pipeline.
- Hand over qualified opportunities with a full account brief, stakeholder map and agreed next steps.
- Stay involved after handover to support relationships while the commercial team leads the sales cycle.

Pipeline and insight

- Keep CRM records accurate and report weekly on activity, pipeline throughput and conversion.
- Feed market and customer insight back to the wider business.
- Follow all applicable regulatory, compliance and NHS engagement standards, including data protection.

About you

Essential

- 3+ years' experience in NHS-facing business development or account management.
- Experience selling into diagnostics, medical devices or digital health.
- A good understanding of NHS structures: ICBs, Trusts, PCNs, GP Federations and CDCs.
- A proven record of generating new pipeline and booking early-stage meetings with senior clinical and non-clinical stakeholders.
- Confident at cold outreach, structured discovery and qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable using CRM systems such as Salesforce, and LinkedIn.
- Self-motivated and organised, and comfortable working remotely.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

Desirable

- Knowledge of NHS procurement routes and business case processes.
- Experience opening new accounts for an early-stage or pre-scale organisation.
- A clinical or life science background.
- An existing primary care customer network.

What success looks like

- A steady flow of qualified opportunities handed to the commercial team each quarter.
- Strong conversion from early-stage meetings to qualified opportunities.
- New stakeholder relationships and clinical champions built across target accounts.
- High-quality CRM records and handover briefs.
