[INTERNSHIP] Benchmark Cloud Application on SiPearl Processors

❓ About SiPearl…SiPearl is the European fabless designer of sovereign secure high-performance energy-efficient CPUs for HPC, AI and data centres. These CPUs will help address strategic challenges in the fields of security, defence, medical research, energy, climate and engineering with a reduced environmental footprint.In June 25, SiPearl completed the design of the most complex CPU ever designed in Europe, Rhea1. Featuring 80 Arm Neoverse V1 cores, with 61 billion transistors, it is currently in production at TSMC. Sipearl CPUs will equip the two first European exascale supercomputers belonging to EuroHPC JU: Rhea1 will be integrated into the JUPITER machine based in Germany and Rhea2 will be part of Alice Recoque in France.Incubated within the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium and seed-funded by the European Union, SiPearl employs almost 200 people in :France (Maisons-Laffitte, Grenoble, Massy, Sophia Antipolis),Spain (Barcelona)and Italy (Bologna)🎯Your missions during this internshipYou will work closely with the Benchmark Team Leader and the R&D System & Software teams to test, analyse and optimise benchmark and application codes used for pre-silicon, simulation and silicon performance analysis of SiPearl processors, while contributing to collaborative and partner projects. Your Missions As an intern, you will be responsible for the following tasks:Analyze and optimize Cloud benchmark and application codes to leverage SiPearl processor architectures. Design, run and monitor test scenarios, collect and validate performance results.Produce detailed performance analyses and forecasts for pre-silicon, simulation and silicon phases. Identify and fix software issues impacting benchmarks and applications.Package and document benchmark results. Learning Objectives During this internship, you will: Develop skills in processor performance analysis and optimisation.Gain hands-on experience with benchmarking and performance evaluation methodologies. Deepen your understanding of processor architectures and Cloud environments. Collaborate with experienced engineers on real-world technical projects.🔍What makes you a good match for the roleFinal-year engineering student or Master's degree student specialising in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Architecture or a related field. Strong interest in processor architectures, Cloud environments and performance optimisation. Analytical, detail-oriented and proactive, with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international technical environment. Good knowledge of programming and software development (C/C++ and/or Python). Knowledge of CPU architectures and Linux systems. Basic understanding of benchmarking, performance analysis and software optimisation.
