Job Description

The Data Business Systems Analyst (Data BSA) will support the design, development, and delivery of data capabilities within the SYF and Zeta Marketing Platform Data Infrastructure through hands-on data exploration, technical analysis, and implementation-ready requirements. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, architects, developers, and an external vendor, translating business needs and data findings into clear requirements that guide engineering implementation.
This individual contributor contractor role will focus primarily on enablement of data for addressable messaging. This includes querying and profiling data, defining data flow and transformation requirements, and supporting testing and go-live readiness. The role will also help support the evolution of audience activation to include cloud-based segmentation processes, reducing reliance on file-based workflows and improving the availability, quality, and usability of data across multiple campaign types.

Key Responsibilities
• Partner with business stakeholders, architects, development teams, and external vendors to translate business needs into implementation-ready technical data requirements and acceptance criteria for Cloud-based data storage and Zeta-related initiatives.
• Document and manage end-to-end data flow requirements, including source-to-target mappings, dependencies, business rules, and transformation logic, to guide engineers in implementing data solutions.
• Coordinate delivery activities across technical and business teams to support project execution and milestone completion.
• Support testing efforts by defining data validation scenarios and expected results, validating outputs against requirements and acceptance criteria, and partnering with engineers on defect triage and issue resolution.
• Assist with go-live readiness, deployment coordination, and post-launch validation and support, while engineers retain responsibility for production code development and deployment.
• Work with stakeholders to reduce file-based processes by enabling cloud-based segmentation and data activation capabilities.
• Help ensure data is accurate, accessible, and usable to support downstream experiences and business needs.
• Use hands-on querying, data exploration, and profiling to understand source data, identify root causes of data issues, and translate findings into actionable requirements for engineering resolution and data quality improvements.
• Maintain clear documentation of requirements, process flows, data definitions, and operational support procedures.
• Act as a conduit between technical and non-technical partners to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications
Required
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role supporting data-driven initiatives.
• Hands-on experience working with SQL, Pyspark and Snowflake in a data delivery or analytics environment.
• 5+ years of experience working with a variety of data storage and processing environments, including cloud data warehouses (Snowflake/ Redshift), Lakehouse platforms (Databricks), distributed storage (Hive), and traditional RDBMS (Oracle).
• 4+ years of experience in Agile environments, using Jira for project tracking and Confluence for documentation.
• Experience supporting cross-functional delivery efforts, including requirements gathering, testing, and implementation support.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with external vendors, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document complex data processes clearly.
• Experience working in agile.
