About this role
We're looking for a Sales Development Representative to open doors for a fast-growing AI-native HR software platform built for local government. You will research public agencies, reach HR leaders through outbound email, LinkedIn, and phone, start real conversations, and book qualified meetings for the sales team.
Selling to local government is different from selling to a typical software company. Buyers are public servants who have heard every pitch, are wary of hype, and make decisions around budgets, board calendars, and union negotiation timelines. The best SDRs for this role do their homework, write like a human, and earn attention by being relevant to a specific agency's problems. If you are a curious, persistent prospector who can turn research into a message that gets a reply, this role is a strong fit.
Why You'll Want to Join
- You will be paid in USD (bi-monthly: every 15th and 30th)
- Paid Time Off in accordance with company policy
- Observance of Holidays per company guidelines
- 100% remote setup so you can work wherever you're most productive
- This role requires availability during US business hours
- Work at the front of the pipeline for a company with a clear mission and strong adoption among public agencies
- High-ownership SDR role with direct impact on pipeline and revenue
What You'll Work On
Research and Prospecting
- Identify and research target agencies including cities, counties, and special districts, and the HR leaders and decision makers inside them
- Learn the signals that make an agency a good fit, such as classification backlogs, compensation pressure, hiring challenges, and upcoming negotiations
- Build and maintain organized prospect lists with accurate contact and account information
Outbound Outreach
- Reach prospects through personalized email, LinkedIn, and phone outreach
- Write short, credible messages that speak to a specific agency's situation rather than generic software pitches
- Follow up persistently and respectfully across a longer sales cycle without being pushy
- Test messaging, subject lines, and cadences and keep what gets replies
Qualification and Meeting Booking
- Qualify interest against defined criteria and handle early objections with confidence
- Book qualified meetings for the sales team with clear notes on the agency, the contact, and the problem they care about
- Coordinate scheduling and follow-up so prospects arrive prepared and engaged
CRM and Reporting
- Log all outreach, conversations, and next steps accurately in the CRM
- Track activity, response rates, and meetings booked against weekly goals
- Share what you are hearing from prospects so the team can sharpen messaging and targeting
What You Bring
- Prior experience in outbound sales development, lead generation, or a similar prospecting role, with a record of booking meetings
- Strong written English with the ability to write concise, human outreach that earns replies
- Confident spoken English for phone outreach and live conversations with senior HR and government professionals
- Strong research habits and curiosity about how organizations make decisions
- Organized and disciplined with clean CRM habits and consistent follow-through
- Self-directed and resilient, comfortable working to activity and meeting targets
- Available to work full-time during US business hours
Nice to Have
- Experience selling to government, public sector, education, or other long-cycle institutional buyers
- Experience in HR technology, SaaS, or selling to HR leaders
- Familiarity with HR topics such as job classification, compensation, or labor relations
- Experience with sales engagement tools such as Apollo, Outreach, or Salesloft
- Experience using AI tools for research and personalization
How to Apply
Please include:
- Your updated resume
- A short Loom video (1 to 2 minutes) introducing yourself, describing your outbound experience, and explaining how you would research and open a conversation with an HR director at a county agency who has never heard of us
