About this role
About the Role
Join a small industrial robotics team to own the software stack for an intelligent robotic work cell. You will develop and deploy systems that automate demanding manufacturing tasks such as surface finishing, welding, and coating.
What You'll Do
- Own the work cell's core robotics software stack and help guide its architecture.
- Develop and optimize motion planning, trajectory generation, and control for industrial robot arms.
- Integrate cameras, force and torque sensors, and other perception systems into real-time control loops.
- Implement industrial safety concepts and fail-safe behaviors.
- Lead on-site testing, calibration, and commissioning in production environments.
- Promote sound engineering practices across the robotics system.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of robotics engineering experience working with real robot hardware.
- Strong grounding in kinematics, motion planning, trajectory generation, and control theory.
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python, plus 3D CAD experience with tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA.
- Hands-on experience with industrial or collaborative robot arms, end-of-arm tooling, and associated sensors.
- Experience integrating vision and force/torque sensors into real-time robot-control loops, and deploying systems in industrial environments.
- Fluent English; German is a plus. Must be eligible to work in Germany.
- Experience with surface-finishing, welding, or coating automation, machine vision or 3D perception, ROS 2, or industrial protocols such as EtherCAT or OPC-UA is useful.
