- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes of work across multiple concurrent projects
- Coordinate closely with facility engineering teams, general contractors, and specialty subcontractors to maintain uptime requirements throughout construction activities
- Manage elevator modernization projects, including coordination with elevator contractors and manufacturers, overseeing code compliance upgrades
- Manage equipment procurement lead times and sequence work to minimize impact on building occupants and critical operations
- Conduct regular site walks and inspections to monitor progress and quality
- Review and approve contractor invoicing and change orders
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, providing regular status updates, risk assessments, and financial reporting
- Coordinate with facility operations, security, and engineering staff to navigate the heightened security and access protocols typical of mission critical sites
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of five years of project management experience within mission critical facilities (data centers, colocation sites, healthcare, or similar environments)
- Demonstrated experience managing elevator modernization or capital elevator projects specifically
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and vertical transportation systems
- Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including ASME A17.1 for elevators
- Comfortable working onsite daily in a secure, access-controlled environment, with availability for occasional off-hours work windows common in mission critical settings
- Proficiency with project management software and tools such as Microsoft Project, Procore, or comparable platforms
- Excellent communication, vendor management, and stakeholder coordination skills
- Ability to walk construction sites, climb stairs and ladders, and work in mechanical rooms, equipment yards, and elevator shafts/pits as needed for inspections
Preferred qualifications:
- PMP certification
- Prior experience specifically within colocation or hyperscale data center environments
- Established relationships with elevator manufacturers or modernization contractors in the Charlotte market
- Experience managing projects that require coordination across multiple stakeholder groups in highly regulated or security-sensitive settings
